Expungement

Misdemeanor or non-violent felony charges that have been brought against you and later dismissed, you may be eligible to have that charge expunged from your criminal record. Once a criminal charge is expunged, third parties running a background check will not see anything about the charge including the charge itself.

Expungement is a court-ordered process in which the record of an arrest or a criminal charge is "sealed," or essentially erased in the eyes of the law. Not all records are eligible for expungement.

Having a criminal charge against you dismissed is often the best possible outcome; however, the charge itself remains on your criminal record. For people whose criminal records are constantly being assessed, the presence of a criminal charge can be life-changing.

As a trial lawyer, I know how to argue your case. When dealing with family issues, like divorce and child custody, it is best to be prepared for trial. I have negotiated thousands of cases to favorable results, but those results only come if you are prepared to say no and have a trial.
